Panasonic Plans to Sell Smartphones Outside Japan
After selling cell phones exclusively in Japan since 2005, Panasonic has decided to conquer the global smartphone market one continent at a time. The company starts their global campaign in Europe in March 2012 with a yet-to-be-named Android handset.
Although details about this upcoming phone remains scarce, an image of the supposed device has popped up in the tech blogosphere. The smartphone will supposed come with a 4.3-inch OLED screen with 960 x 540 resolution, will be NFC-equipped, and encased in a very slim and rugged casing.
Panasonic plans to sell a total of 9 million handsets in fiscal year of 2016 outside Japan–covering large markets like Europe, Asia, United States, and China–as well as another 6 million in home soil.
